On the Amalfitan coast, in one of the most beautiful and fascinating places of Italy, two B100 concrete screw pumps from BUNKER are at work. The Amalfitan coast is one of the most beautiful sea resorts in Italy, not only the luxuriant nature contributes to make those places wanted by tourists from all over the world but also the historical villas and perfectly preserved town centers. Among the most luxurious buildings, you could find the "Villa Cimbrone" whose garden lies on one of the most charming Italian coasts. Recently, the villa has been carefully renovated aiming to re-create the splendor of the past and adapt it to modern hotel standards. The renovation of Villa Cimbrone's hotel includes the reconstruction of all floors and the renewal of internal walls with traditional lime plaster. Concrete has been conveyed thanks to a B100 screw pump from BUNKER (Naples). The section engineer, Mr Pasquale from "Costruzioni Coppola Gaetano" says : "With the B100, we could easily manage all the necessary jobs. We also poured reinforced concrete to reconstruct doors lintels : we consolidated them in order to meet modern safety standards. We worked this way to respect the aesthetics of the renovation project, a special emphasis has been put on the remarkable historical and artistical quality of the work."

Floor screeds have been conceived to minimize the impact noise guaranteing a high quality comfort for hotel customers. A soundproofing sheet has been put under the self-levelling screed reinforced by a steel wiremesh in order to avoid shrinkage and cracking problems. Particularly beautiful paving stones will be put on the floor screed respecting the historical character and the original style of the building. The job had to be done at the upper floors in narrow spaces which caused workers to move in very small spaces. Furthermore, the hotel is situated in one of most inspiring places of the Amalfitan coast and is impossible to reach by traditional conveying pumps. The choice has been made in favour of a compact pump that could convey concrete and other materials until the highest floor of the building (the fourth) prefering this solution to the one of workers conveying them with buckets and wheelbarrows. The material output had to be as homogeneous as possible also in case of very viscous materials. Concrete has been mixed at ground level and sent to the most narrow places thanks a Bunker B100. Thanks to its versatility and power, all materials in use of the job site have been pumped, from concrete for walls reconstruction until external and internal finishing products. So, at the end of the job, some 2000 m2 of self-levelling floor screed will be have been conveyed. The features of the B100 make possible concrete pumping until 25 mm grain size and also : sprayed concrete, light concrete, cement injections, premixed products, fibre-reinforced mortars, waterproofing products, self-levelling floor screeds, fillings, traditional plasters and more.

Bunker's B100 is not only working at the "Villa Cimbrone" but also a 100 meters higher at the renovation of the "Hotel Caruso Belvedere", one of the world's most famous hotels. The hotel is being restored from the following points of view : reconstructing the facade on the valley side with its large arches offering a view on one the most inspiring Italian landscapes. In this case, the building company relied on a B100 to pump big and small grain size concrete and plasters. The pumping height was astonishing (more than 30 meters) given the substantious height of hotel floors. Using the B100 permitted concrete pumping until the roof where several suites have been built. On the outside, the whole facade plaster has been sprayed with a Bunker screw pump that will be used for internal plasters and to restore other plasters. This conveying system makes cleaning the construction job very easy compared to other traditional conveying systems. There are no concrete residuals along the way and manpower costs are drastically reduced. The B100's tools enable a large variety of uses : buying the B100, you could find a plastering spray gun, a joint filling spray gun, another for cement injections and another for sprayed concrete (available in polyurethan and steel). The machine's versatility combined with its small dimensions make the B100 an adapted pump for all restoring or building construction sites.
